Entries have been submitted for the Unison Great Lake Taupō Business awards 2023. Well done to all those who have entered! Lots of hard work and long hours have been put in over the last three months to get to this point!
We have had 28 business entries submitting their written answers to questions over seven categories – 103 category entries to be judged! Entrants were required to answer a comprehensive range of questions on topics such as Strategy & Planning and Marketing and then there was a choice to enter one or more categories including Innovation, Sustainability, Community Contribution, with two new categories, Best Emerging Business and Employer of the Year.
The entries are being judged by independent, professional judges who are all out-of-town and chosen for their experience in the category they are scoring. Feedback on each category entry will be given plus a score for each question. The finalists for each category will be chosen on the highest scores.
The Finalists for each category will be announced at a celebratory event on the 4th July from 5.30pm at the Great Lake Centre theatre. We could not have the awards programme without our sponsors. The major sponsors for each of these categories will be introduced and be there to congratulate each of the finalists. Come along to the event to celebrate success with all our businesses who have entered – they all deserve some kudos and support!
Once the finalists have been announced, they are subjected to Stage two of the judging process with a new panel of judges. They are visited and will be required to pitch their business to their category judge and this score is added to the written submission to determine the winners, to be announced at the Gala Dinner event on 11th August at the Great Lake Centre. One of the finalists will also become the BNZ Overall Business of the Year.
