People’s Choice Award – Vote Now!

Nominations are closed, our finalists have been announced… and now it’s your turn to decide who takes out the 2025 People’s Choice Award, proudly supported by the Taupō & Tūrangi News.

This is your chance to celebrate the businesses that make a real difference in our community – the ones that go above and beyond, make you feel valued, and consistently deliver excellence. Whether it’s your favourite café, local legend, or standout service provider, your vote counts!

How it works:

• The 18 most-nominated businesses are now our finalists.

• You can cast one vote only – strictly one per person (duplicate names, phone numbers and emails will be disqualified)

• Duplicate entries will be removed.

• Voting is open to all NZ residents and closes at midnight on Thursday 31st July 2025.

• The winner will be revealed at our Gala Awards Night on Friday 8 August.

• You MUST agree to the Terms and Conditions for your vote to count!

Terms and ConditionsPeople’s Choice Award – Terms & Conditions. By submitting a nomination or vote in the People's Choice Award, you agree to the following terms and conditions: 1. Eligibility Any business based in the Taupō District is eligible for nomination. Nominated businesses do not need to have entered another category in the 2025 Unison Great Lake Taupō Business Awards. Businesses must be operating at the time of nomination and voting. 2. Nomination Process Nominations are open from 9am Thursday 19th June to 5.00pm on 30th June 2025. Each person may nominate one business only. Duplicate nominations from the same individual will not be counted. Nominations must include the business name and a brief reason for the nomination. 3. Voting Process The top 15 nominated businesses will move forward to the voting round. Public voting will be open from Wednesday 9th July to 5.00pm on Thursday 31st July. One vote per person is permitted. Any evidence of vote manipulation or automated voting will result in disqualification. 4. Promotion By accepting nomination, businesses agree to have their name, image, and nomination published across Taupō Business Awards promotional channels. Participating businesses are encouraged to promote their nomination via their own channels. 5. Privacy Personal information submitted through nominations and voting will be used solely for the purposes of the Awards and will not be shared with third parties. Email addresses may be used to verify votes if required for auditing purposes. 6. Final Decision The business with the highest number of valid public votes at the close of voting will be declared the winner. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 7. Prize The People’s Choice Award winner will receive a $1000 marketing package in partnership with The Taupō & Tūrangi Times. The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. 8. Organiser Rights The organisers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. The organisers reserve the right to remove or disqualify any nomination or vote deemed to be in breach of the spirit or fairness of the competition. 9. One voter will be chosen at random to win a Turangi 'Staycation' including one night at the Tongariro Lodge and a Grade 3 whitewater rafting adventure with Tongariro River Rafting.I agree
