Entries are officially open for the 2025 Unison Great Lake Taupō Business Awards! It’s your chance to showcase your achievements, reflect on your growth, and gain recognition for the incredible work your business is doing in our community.
Whether you’re a new start-up, a growing family business, or an established enterprise, these Awards are designed to celebrate the depth, diversity, and drive of the Taupō business community.

Who Can Enter?
All businesses that have a registered business address within the Taupō District are eligible to enter. You don’t need to be perfect or have everything figured out—you just need to be proud of what you’ve achieved and ready to share your story.
From sole traders and not-for-profits to major employers and innovators, these awards are for you.
How to Enter
Entering the Awards is easy. Here’s what to do:
- Choose the categories that best reflect your business
- Download the entry form and category questions
- Draft your responses using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result)
- Include real examples, metrics, and results
- Fill out your answers on the entry form and save it as you go.
- Proofread and submit your entry online by 5.00pm, Friday 13 June 2025
Award Categories
Every business must complete the Excellence in Strategy & Planning category, then you may select up to two additional categories:
- Excellence in Marketing
- Excellence in Innovation
- Excellence in Sustainability
- Excellence in Community Contribution
- Employer of the Year
- Best Emerging Business (registered since 1 January 2022)
All finalists will be considered for the supreme Business of the Year award.
